I recently came to the conclusion that I simply can’t be around all these wack people who don’t like themselves. It may not be obvious at first, but after you get to know somebody for a little while, it’s pretty easy to tell whether or not they think they’re the shit. I mean, I’ve convinced myself that I don’t have anything to worry about because I’m the shit. And this probably makes it easier and more natural to convince other people that, in fact, I am the shit.
On the other hand, if someone gives me the impression that I shouldn’t think highly of them, or that they’re always concerned about something going wrong or about what other people think about them, and they’re gonna be bringing me down with mad negativity… Then I just gotta to stay away from that person, nahmeen. That type of wack shit tends to rub off on people. I don’t understand what causes this “downerness”, and I damn sure don’t wanna find out.
Anyway, the point I’m tryna make here is that you are the ONE AND ONLY spokesperson for yourself.
